Soak&Sleep

Spring is in full swing and Summer is just around the corner – the heating has been turned down and we’re nearly through April showers which is why now is a good idea to think about changing up your bedding for the warmer season.

This will be my third set of linen bedding in the last year, why? Because I love the linen look. It’s casual and goes with all bedroom styles, and the best part? It looks best when it hasn’t been ironed. SOLD. This beautiful set of 100% Pure French Bed Linen in my favourite colour of all time, soft green, is from Soak&Sleep. Teamed with a charcoal fitted sheets and extra charcoal housewife pillowcases – but be sure to check the blush pink linen out because that is just dreamy! Linen bedding looks great on, is so comfortable to sleep in and I love the tie tassels at the end of the duvet to finish it off. Cute. But don’t just take it from me, here’s expert Sarah Smith’s (Head of Buying at Soak & Sleep) reasons to choose linen.

It’s incredibly cool for the warmer months – as the temperature rises in the summer months linen really comes into its own. Being naturally very breathable linen is beautifully airy to sleep under, meaning it will keep you cooler for a better night’s sleep.

It’s more absorbent than cotton – as with staying cool, we all want to stay dry and sweat-free in the night. Linen is incredibly absorbent and will wick away any excess moisture from the skin and release it quickly too so you wake up feeling fresh.

It oozes summer vibes – one of the best things about linen is the relaxed and easy look it brings to a room. Looking beautiful when slightly crumpled and non-ironed it’s perfect for adding an unfussy, lived-in feel to a bright summer bedroom. Simply air-dry out on the washing line and pop straight onto the bed for the best results.

It looks better with age – unlike most other fabrics, linen will only get better the more it’s used and the more it’s washed. Our linen is already pre-washed and pre-shrunk so you can be sure that it’ll keep it’s shape and quality wash after wash. It’s also going to be eternally lint-free due to the smooth yarn, so no bobbling in sight! Finally, being made from flax, linen is 2-3 times stronger than cotton, making it the perfect choice for bedding that will last year after year.

What do you think? Will you be switching to linen this Summer?
