Elements London Symphony Carpet Paris

AD | This post is in collaboration with Elements London.

It’s been 5 years since I moved into this house and up until now, we have only ever had carpet in the hallway and landing, carpet that when I viewed the house, I could not wait to rip up. When we gave our bedroom its first makeover three years ago, I was very much into muted, Scandi interiors and so we opted for off white laminate flooring, mainly because it was Pinterest worthy, and it was (since then that blog post has had a crazy +570,000 views)! But there comes a certain age when you choose comfort over style – or so I thought.

After three years of walking over our laminate flooring and having had the walls in the bedroom re-plastered, it was discoloured and chipped all over, it desperately needed replacing and I longed to finally have carpet under my feet when I got out of bed in the morning.

I hunted high and low for the right shade of carpet – our bedroom features some bold patterns so I knew it had to be neutral to suit the rest of the room, I also knew that the off white laminate complimented the rest of the room perfectly previously, so this is the colour that I based my search on.  Plus, white white would have been really unpractical. Whilst the colour was a priority, I wanted to make sure the texture was right – soft, fluffy and luxurious underfoot, but without looking too velvety and shiny. I ordered samples online, went into the big popular high street carpet stores, but I couldn’t’ find what I wanted – until I came across Elements London.

(This was the absolute closest carpet that I could find from  a very well know carpet company, in both colour and texture – I appreciate that you can’t touch it to fully understand, but hopefully, you can see the difference in quality just from this image)

There’s a glorious collection of carpets available – and even better with each range there’s amazing lifestyle photography (and beautifully styled rooms) of the carpets featured which I found most carpet sites lack and instead use CGI images which don’t show carpets in their true light. We chose the colour ‘Paris’ from Element London’s Symphony Sheen Velvet Range – super soft luxury cut pile carpet.

Having lived with the carpet for a few months now, I can say that it’s brilliant, not only visually and to walk on, but also practically – it hoovers like a dream (I must be getting old to remark that, but it does)! Despite it being a luxury carpet it’s absolutely suitable for a family home. I can highly recommend Elements London and would 100% install more of their carpet in our home in a heartbeat.

And just for comparison, our previous carpet…
