IKEA STOCKHOLM Collection 2017

IKEA Stockholm Collection

I cannot even begin to explain how excited I am to be writing this, in fact I’m amazed that I’ve managed to keep my lips sealed on the subject but I really only wanted to share this collaboration once all the content was ready, and now it is. I’ve been writing the Lust Living blog for about a year and a half now and I’ve worked on some fantastic collaborations, but this one tops them all, without a shadow of a doubt. I’ve been shopping here since, well since I can’t even remember I was that young, and still to this day, and probably still will when I’m 90 (cool granny). IKEA. Yep. A proper pinch me moment. Who’d have thought it? I certainly never in a million years thought I would get this opportunity so it really is a dream come true to be able to work with one of my all time favourite brands.

Okay lets put the gushing to one side and get to it. IKEA recently launched the latest iteration of their Stockholm collection and I have been tasked with styling a selection of items from the range. I think it’s fairly obvious just from the name that the Stockholm collection is right up my street, since I’m convinced I should have been born somewhere in Scandinavia. The Stockholm collection was actually launched in 1984 (I just googled it and IKEA was founded in 1943, did you know that? I didn’t! Crazy!) Each new Stockholm collection differs from the last but every collection shares certain characteristics of democratic design:

Scandinavian modernity of the highest quality in form, function and materials at an affordable price.

The Stockholm collection is a carefully curated collection – the new 2017 range consists of 47 pieces designed to mix and blend in the homewares you already have. IKEA have made the collection from natural and tactile materials like ash, hand-blown glass and rattan – speaking of rattan, click here to see my single favourite piece from the collection (the rattan cabinet – just look at the brass handle detailing too!) – I’m signed up for the back in stock email notification because it sold out crazy quick and I need it in my life. Despite being so design-led, the collection is designed to be used and enjoyed every day.

I’ve been living with my Stockholm collection items for a few weeks now and like always with IKEA, I’m impressed. The quality, as expected, is high and it really is a BEA-utiful collection. From velour pouffes to cushions to glassware to furniture, there’s an impressive selection to choose from, and I’m particularly loving the cobalt blue that seems to have taken centre stage! You can see how I’ve styled bits from the range in my home andI’ve linked all the Stockholm pieces featured below. I’m sure you will spot a huge amount of other IKEA items here and there, if you’ve been following me for a while then you will know how much I shop at IKEA, I have at least one piece of IKEA furniture in each room and let’s not even talk about all the accessories!

You can shop the whole Stockholm collection here. What’s your favourite piece from the collection?

Sandbacka Dark Blue Pouffe

*This post is sponsored by IKEA but as always my opinions and words are my own. I only ever work with brands that I love and as you know, this brand I really love. Okay. Enough of my IKEA flattery, I hope you enjoyed the post!

I can’t believe the rattan cabinet is from IKEA! I wish I had space for it.

Loving the inky watercolour cushions and wooden tray.
