DIY Gold Confetti Pumpkins Dalmatian Print

This post is in collaboration with Hobbycraft.

In case any of you are doing a little bit of last minute decorating for Halloween, here’s how to make your very own DIY Confetti Pumpkins!

Okay so these were supposed to be Dalmatian print pumpkins, but they didn’t quite come out like that so I’ve renamed them confetti pumpkins! No laughing! DIY doesn’t always go to plan… I bought some ‘white’ pumpkins a few weeks ago, but two weeks later and they have turned a yellowy cream colour – so I decided to take matters into my own hands. And of course, add a bit of gold!

You will need:

Pumpkins

White paint/ spray-paint

Gold Leaf

Mod Podge Adhesive

Paintbrush for Adhesive

Fluffy paintbrush

Firstly you need to wipe down your pumpkins to make sure that they are clean so that the paint won’t flake off.

Get painting! Spray-painting your pumpkins will be a lot quicker but I was just trying to use paint up that we already had lying around.

Once your pumpkins are completely dry, you can apply Mod Podge with a paint brush to wherever you want to add gold foil.

Very carefully (with clean hands) apply your gold leaf to the adhesive areas – gently pat down the gold leaf and wait for the adhesive to dry. Once completely dry, you can start to remove the excess golf leaf – I use a dry piece of kitchen paper towel and gently rub away the excess and then use a fluffy paint brush to brush away the delicate and awkward areas.
