Moshi Spatia Speaker

Well tonight has been one of those disaster evenings where everything seemed to go wrong. First the power was off for about an hour, during which time I attempted to light the fire in the pitch black (because the heating wasn’t on because of the power so I was freezing), the fire then decided that it would be a great thing if it spat at me and burnt a decent black hole in my new favourite grey knitted jumper. RIP. At least it didn’t spit into my eye I suppose… the good news is I defeated the fire and it is now burning like a boss. The power then came back on but the wi-fi remained off for another hour. So glad I wasn’t alive during the caveman times, I rely on technology and electricity far too much. So long story cut short this post very nearly didn’t go live tonight, but here it is.

Let me introduce the least speaker looking speaker I’ve ever come across – which is a good thing since I think most speakers are ugly, this one’s got a serious Scandi design to it so you know right off I’m gonna love it. Spatia Speaker by Moshi is a little different to most wireless speakers that I have already come across – it works using wi-fi instead of bluetooth and it’s made specifically to work wirelessly with ios devices – iPhones, iPads, iPod touches, iMacs, Macbooks and so on. This is an absolute godsend for me mainly because I have so many photos stored on my phone I never have room for music on my itunes music, which means I always resort to playing music using the Youtube app on my phone. If you, like me are a serial Youtuber, and use the app on your phone religiously, then you will know that once you go on to another app on your phone (which is a lot for me since I spend a lot of time on my phone), the video you are playing, or the music you are listening to does not continue to play and it is possibly the most annoying thing ever. I mean come on Youtube – sort it out?! It’s 2017 how have you not done something about that yet? The the best solution for me would be having a speaker that wirelessly connects to your laptop as well as your phone, because Youtube continues to play no matter what tab you are using on the internet! And that is why (in a very long winded, Youtube moan, whiney way) is why the Spatia is so perfect for me since it connects using AirPlay, so I can do just that.

Aside from the practicalities of using Youtube… the sound on the Spatia is great – I’m not really usually one to appreciate decent sound and speakers but I have to admit that you can really hear the bass – and if you’re into the sound specifics, you can download the Spatia app and use it’s equaliser to save your pre-settings for any type of music should you wish to. As most tech products, Spatia does have an AUX jack if you didn’t want to connect it wirelessly.

I’ve been trying Spatia out for the last week and a half in different places round the house but it’s now made a permanent residence in my office, this is where it will absolutely get most use.

Oh and one more thing – my favourite touch to the Spatia, the ‘Moshi’ Light and the green ‘on’ light only come on when the Spatia is on – when it’s not being used they disappear and it just looks like wood – magic!!

Let me know if you have any questions lovelies and enjoy the rest of your Sunday eve x
