Lust Living Skincare Routine

The older I get the more I favour buying new skincare products over beauty products, I guess that’s because you start to realise how important it is to look after your skin properly and having a skincare routine can really help. I’m constantly trying out new products (next on my wish list is some Glossier products now they’re available in the UK), but I feel like I’ve had a good routine going for a few months now with some great products I thought I’d share with you! Or maybe it’s just an excuse to show off my new bath robe from Moyha!)

CLEANSE

Firstly and probably most importantly I wash my face every day using The Body Shop Vitamin C Daily Cleansing polish on my Magnitone. I’ve been using this Magnitone for two years now, I thought they were just one of those gimmicky products but now that I’m so used to using it I don’t feel like my face gets a thorough wash if I just use a flannel or anything else. It seriously makes your skin so soft. I’m still annoyed at my 18 year old self for going to bed every day with makeup on – that is something I would never do now, The Magnitone helps to get every last inch off.

MASK

I LOVE A FACE MASK. Seriously, I’m kind of obsessed. I’ve tried so many but I always come back to The Body Shop masks and the Glamglow masks. My favourite has to be the Glamglow Supermud Mask by a mile though. It literally draws the impurities in your pores and my skin just feels incredible afterwards. I try to use it once or twice a week and if I’m having a breakout, after one use of this mask, my skin always feel so much better. The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask comes in close at second place though! I seriously recommend getting The Body Shop face mask brush too – it makes applying any face mask so much easier and as a result you don’t waste product by applying unevenly or applying too much!

TONE

Whilst I absolutely swear by Pixi Glow Tonic (and have done for over a year now), when I finished my last bottle I wanted to try a new toner out and I’d heard such great things about the Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic so I gave it a go. The smell is the best part about it – you know if you went to the spa and had a facial – that’s what it smells of. Spa facial heavenliness. So far no break outs so its a thumbs up from me. I find that if I stop using a toner I do break out so using a good toner is really important for my skin.

MOISTURISE

Sometimes your routine can leave your skin feeling a little dry and I hate having dry skin so I use two different moisturisers – one in the morning and one at night. I say moisturisers, technically they are oils – I love a facial oil over a cream any day, I’ve got pretty normal skin, it’s not especially dry or greasy so I find oil works well for me, and it’s the best for giving you that natural glow. I use The Body Shop (can you tell they are one of my favourite brands yet) Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil from their Oils of Life range. I adore this range although I’m yet to try all of the products out – it puts the moisture right back in my skin, it’s the type of product you can put on before you go to bed and in the morning you can still feel the effects, definitely recommend. Then a few months ago I started using a different night moisturiser to my day one for the first time ever – Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate. Everyone has been raving about it so I just had to try it out for myself and it did not disappoint, now I’m desperate to try some other Kiehl’s products but not sure where to start? Any recommendations are welcome! It has the most amazing lavender scent which is supposed to be a great scent for helping you sleep, and I need all the help I can get in that area lately! Seriously if you have any tips on how I can fall to sleep would be greatly appreciated, I’ve turned into the worst sleeper recently.

RE-HYDRATE

I know it’s a total given, but drink lots of water. I absolutely hate the taste of water (weird I know) so I drink lots of tea instead – my favourite of the moment being Twinings pomegranate green tea. Yum.

Oh and incase you were wondering where the gorgeous minimal bath robe is from – it’s from Moyha who were very kind to gift it to me, you can find the bath robe here. It’s like a jersey material on the outside and fleece on the inside. I pretty much get in my PJs as soon as I’ve got home (and walked the dogs) so a good dressing gown is essential. It’s the cosiest thing ever.

I hope this helped you if you are looking for some new skincare products – I’m going to try a bunch of products that are supposed to help you get to sleep so that will be up on here too soon if any of you are night owls like me!
