Meraki Travel Products

I’ve been putting this post together for a little while now, the idea came because at the beginning of the year, every year, I spend a lot of time abroad at trade shows and I find that travelling can completely ruin your skincare routine so I decided to put together a list of my current travel skincare essentials.

If you read my previous post here, then you will already know that I am a big fan of the Meraki brand so I was so excited to try these new products.

Where do I begin? It has to be the face masks. I’m quite the pamper girl, I have a little routine once a week when I have the house to myself , I light the candles, run a bath and stick a face mask on. I’ve tried all the face masks you can imagine, up until now the type that dry out to the point where they crack when you move the slightest part your face have been my favourite. Until I tried the Meraki sensitive face mask. Wow. It’s the total opposite, it’s one of those creepy looking ones that kind of look like a Halloween ghost mask, you know the ones that look like white cloth with slits for the eyes, nose and mouth? God forbid the postman would knock on the door whilst you’re masking up… but it would be fully worth it because they are amazing. They’re like a wet rejuvenating mask and they leave my face feeling so full hydrated – plane journeys leave my skin so dehydrated so these are perfect. You don’t even wash your face after you remove the mask, simply rub in the remaining liquid just like a moisturiser. Love.

Make-up removal wipes. If i’m travelling for work it’s most likely (certain) that I won’t be without makeup on my face, and it’s just one of my rules, never ever go to bed without taking your makeup off.

Lip Balm. This is the second time I’ve restocked on this lip balm because I loved the last mandarin one so much. I love that it’s like a lipstick rather than in a pot. During the winter my lips are horrendously dry all of the time so I cannot go anywhere without lip balm on hand.

Natural cloths. These babies are like magic. Remember those face cloths you used to get when you were little that were a couple of inches big and as soon as they touch water they turned into a normal sized face cloth. Gimmicky or not I love these for travelling, they’re so small to take with you, they’re literally the size of a 1p and they transform into a full tissue sized cloth. Ideal for me because after I’ve taken my makeup off with removal wipes, I always wash my face – I hate getting left over foundation on hotel’s face cloths so these are the perfect solution! Plus you get 60 in a pack so they’re going to keep you going for a little while!

Hand cream. Every time I wash my hands I use hand cream after because hand soap drys my hands out so much, so you can imagine I go through quite a lot of the stuff so it’s always good to have some handy!

Deodorant. Well I’m not okay with being unhygienic so this is a given but it’s the perfect travel sized deodorant.

Travel bottles. Oh my god these are genius. I’ve had the mini travel bottles from Boots before of shampoo etc but if you’re like me and you’ve tried to save money by just topping these up every time you go away then you will know that those lids were not designed to be taken off, they are so hard to remove. The Meraki travel bottles have screw tops designed to be refilled time and time again. They hold 98ml of liquid each so you can take them in your carry on luggage too!

Nail file. I can’t go anywhere without a nail file. I paint my own nails, I don’t get gels or anything so my nails aren’t the toughest. They break very easily and there’s nothing worse than having a torn nail catching on your clothes and everything you come in contact with. Honestly, I climbed Ben Nevis two years ago and my nail file came with me all the way to the top. Made from glass this is no ordinary nail file, fancy pants!

Mirror. Have you ever stayed in a hotel where the lighting in the bathroom is awful? Me too. That’s why I always travel with a small mirror so I can do my makeup where there is decent light. Maybe that’s a little extreme but I like to call it prepared. This mirror can be folded flat for travelling and then slotted upright for when you need to use it, and its gold so it’s an obvious must.

Toiletry bag. Well you’ve got to put it all somewhere haven’t you? This is such a great sized toiletry bag, if you don’t have much in it, it can be folded over, but if you’re not packing very lightly then the zip at the top is going to keep everything secure anyway. Winning.
