How To Style A Gold Side Table

Gold Side Table

THE MIDAS TOUCH: GOLD

This blog post could not be any more me could it? Gold, gold and more gold!! I was recently challenged by Wayfair to style a gold side table up to my own taste and this is what I came up with.

Wayfair were kind enough to gift me this stunning feature Milton Side Table by Safavieh – it even has mirrored tops – fancy! If you’ve been following me on Instagram you probably know that lately I’ve been loving adding house plants about the place, and since I’m a serial plant killer (seriously, I can pretty much keep succulents alive and that’s it – not even cacti), I’m loving faux plants at the moment. In particular, the newest addition is my faux Eucalyptus Hanging Plant. It actually comes in a lovely minimal black pot but this is ‘The Midas Touch’ after all so gold plant pot – voila.

There are three things I think that any well styled side table (or even coffee table) needs.

  1. Coffee Table Books. Be it Fashion Books, Photography, Architecture, anything goes. I went for some monochrome fashion books to compliment the gold nicely.
  2. Plants. Or flowers? I love a good orchid arrangement, but I’m really partial to green plants at the moment, I’m pretty sure that leaf green was made to go with gold… they look so good together.
  3. Accessories. Little things tidied away in a cute trinket type box makes your table a little bit more interesting. You can even put some personal belongings in there if you’re a bit more sentimental.

In fairness, I would normally have a candle somewhere on there, but I’m kind of paranoid that the plants are going to catch fire… dramatic I know but I like my house so I’d rather it didn’t burn down.

*This post is sponsored by Wayfair but as always my opinions are my own – and you know how much I love gold!

This looks gorgeous, I did this challenge too and was so surprised when I came across the mirrored top on another table! For some reason it didn’t really show that well on their website. But the tables are gorgeous aren’t they? I’ve got a faux orchid and candle on mine, and yes, I keep worrying that the orchid might catch fire. Either that, or my nosy cats whiskers will go up in smoke X

    It looks fab, Olivia!

Gold goes so well with green foliage and other metallics. The mirrored surface gives it extra luxe appeal too! 🙂
