Soak.com 1655x750mm Melissa Freestanding Bath - Large

I can’t even tell you how long I’ve wanted a freestanding bath for, to me they’re pretty fancy – like the kind of bath you’d find in a posh hotel room and that’s definitely what I was inspired by when I designed this bathroom – a luxurious hotel bathroom.

Following my bathroom reveal on YouTube, today I’m focussing on the feature piece of the bathroom and obviously the piece that gets the most use – the bath! Soak.com were very kind to work with me on this bathroom renovation which allowed me to get the bath of my dreams – and by my dreams, I mean my Pinterest bathroom dreams and the bath I chose was inspired by this particular photo on Pinterest. If you don’t already use Pinterest and you’re interested in interiors but struggle with ideas – you really should head over there and start pinning, you can find so much inspiration, if ever I’m struggling to picture something in a real home environment, I search it on Pinterest and I can normally find something to help me make the decision! So back to that pin, I knew I wanted a fairly modern looking bath (as much as I love traditional roll top baths, I was going for somewhere in between contemporary and classic, so the Melissa Freestanding Bath was the perfect choice – it’s a real statement bath, it’s made from durable gloss acrylic, which means it’s durable and not cold to touch (I love the look of tin baths but my lord they must be cold mustn’t they?) and since it’s plenty big enough (seriously I feel like I’m getting in a small pool when I get in) and the waste is positioned in the middle, it’s ideal to use as a sharing bath too! This particular bath does come in a smaller size too but I went for the large size as it was nearly the width of the window looks perfectly sitting below it. It’s solid and sturdy and after a month of using it I’m still impressed. Did I mention that I’ve had more baths this month than I’ve had in my entire life! (That might be a slight exaggeration but I’ve had a lot). Do you blame me?! I mean, it took 9 months to be completed so I’m damn well gonna use it every chance I get!

It’s probably worth mentioning that this bath does come with a silver waste but we adapted them and changed them to gold to match the rest of the room.

What’s your dream bath? A roll top bath? A corner bath? A whirlpool bath? Let me know in the comments below!

A huge thank you to Soak.com for working with me on this renovation!
