And with this new addition, it finally feels like the living room is complete! Hello rattan lover!
For a long time, I’ve been feeling like the living room had one corner incomplete and it came down to the style of shelving that we had in here previously – very Scandi, very modern, and it just didn’t look right with the style of the rest of the room. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a gorgeous open shelving unit which I love and we have moved it to elsewhere in the house where it looks far better and is actually a lot more practical and functional! I have been on the hunt for another storage furniture piece to go here for a while but I had no idea what style I wanted. Until I saw this Waska Rattan Oak Cabinet [gifted] – my decision was made instantly.
The rest of the living room has quite an eclectic style but with just the right amount of boho so I thought this cabinet would go perfectly, and as soon as it was in place I was beyond happy. It’s the perfect piece to finish off the living room. Despite being the prettiest cabinet that ever did live, it’s extremely practical too. I wanted to be able to put things in here that we need to access regularly, things that I don’t necessarily want out on display – recipe books, billing folders and so on. There’s multiple shelves inside which are tall enough and deep enough for large books and for A4 folders so it actually is practical for filing and so on. It would make a superb drinks/bar cabinet though I have to say! Plus the sliding cabinet doors make it ideal for narrower spaces.
This is my first ever piece of homeware from La Redoute and I am completely converted. I’ve got my eye on a few other pieces, all of which I’ve shared at the bottom of this blog post – my top 10 La Redoute picks!
