The Perfect Danish Reading Nook

Hubsch

I hope you’ve all had a lovely Bank Holiday Weekend, even though typically (and this happens every British Bank Holiday), the scorching weather seemed to come to a halt as soon as the weekend started, and today it has been vile in the Midlands, torrential rain all day. I thought we were done with April showers?! We are nearly in June!

Anyway, I’ve taken nearly a week off the blog, I was feeling a little un-motivated but I’m back and with a tonne of content to share with you guys over the next few weeks, starting off with a brand that is quickly becoming one of my absolute favourites –Hübsch, you may remember my Danish Haul back in April but this one is even better.

I finally have a cosy reading corner (well it’s not really a corner), a very Danish armchair, matching foot stool for maximum slob behaviour and a tall BRASS floor lamp poking over the top of the chair like I’ve alway wanted. Do I do much reading here? No, none. I’d like to say I’m super intellectual and read a book a week, but I so do not have time for that. Holidays are just about the only time I force myself to pick up a book sadly, but don’t worry, this ‘reading corner’ has a much better purpose – it has the best TV view and best dog bed view so I can watch the TV and look at my pups without having to strain my neck! LOL. Seriously though. But isn’t my little nook a beauty?! I haven’t sat on the sofa for weeks I’m completely obsessed.

Piggies had to get involved (get in the way of Mummy’s photo shoot!) I’ve sort of given up attempting to move them every two minutes and embraced them as part of the furniture in these shots!

Yep – that’s a black marble base on the floor lamp. YUM.

Oh and I couldn’t not show off my other Hübsch newbies! I previously had two Eames inspired dining chairs this side of my dining booth which you can see here. But I’ve changed it up a bit and replaced the chairs with this gorgeous fabric button bench, it’s the perfect height, it makes it feel a bit more cozy and it’s actually a lot more practical too being able to tuck it all the way under the bench. It would make a really lovely bench at the end of a bed too wouldn’t it? Love.

Isn’t this just the most beautiful laundry basket you’ve ever seen? Well technically it’s a gold basket but that’s definitely what I’m going to use it for once our ensuite bathroom is finished, until then it’s the perfect place to throw all my blankets and throws since I absolutely do not need them this time of year!

Finally – some simple gold hooks – I’m also saving these for the new ensuite, to go on the back of the door for our dressing gowns, so more photos to follow I promise!

Do you like my new additions? I hope so! I’ve got a May favourite’s blog post going live later this week with some other gorgeous new additions so keep your eyes peeled!
