If you follow me over on Instagram then today’s post will come as no surprise to you. I’m a lover of beauty, skincare, makeup, you name it. I probably started to dabble in makeup around the age of 16/17 and then it was when I went to university that I started to take more of an interest purely because makeup tutorials were suddenly huge on Youtube. I used to watch Tanya Burr religiously every single week (and Millie Mackintosh – do you remember when she used to do beauty tutorials?!) I loved watching them. It was like going to makeup school for free. I’d buy the products they were using and I’d do my best to re-create the looks, and it was around this time that I invested in my first set of makeup brushes – because the beauty bloggers told me to, and they were right to, I’ve never looked back. It seems so strange to me that I used to apply everything from foundation to eyeshadow with my fingers at one point…
10 years later and I still have the same set of makeup brushes, I do wash them regularly don’t worry, but I was thrilled when Spectrum got in touch and asked me to try out some of their new ranges of makeup brushes which meant I could finally throw the my old ugly black ones away! So ugly that I’d never leave them out on display, they always went back in their carry case.
Spectrum have changed the makeup brush game though. Not only do they care that their makeup brushes are of a professional quality (and I can confirm that they are great quality having tested them out), but they put a great deal of effort into the design of the brushes and even matching accessories now too. They bring out regular new range releases, Disney, Mean Girls, bridal collections, trend designs like marble, copper etc. But the icing on the cake –
“Spectrum are proud to be a PETA registered and Vegan trademarked cruelty free brand, all of Spectrum’s brushes are made of the highest quality synthetic hair. Once you feel the super-soft bristles you’ll never go back! *No unicorns were harmed in the making of Spectrum Brushes.”
Mentions of unicorns are always necessary.
Anyway, I think you get the idea, time to show you some of the new ranges. And it’s worth mentioning that the range names are equally as creative as the brushes themselves… (I’m torn between which is my favourite name, Merbabe or Marbleous!?)
Gorgeous right? So us interior nerds that like to keep everything that’s out looking perfect – that now includes makeup brushes! Have you tried Spectrum makeup brushes out yet? Thanks Spectrum!
