Last week I posted this photo (below) of my office over on my Instagram, and I then had a few days to completely make it over… but not into a nursery like most of you thought! The 3rd December marked my stepdaughter’s 6th birthday and this was her birthday surprise, we had a little room re-arrange – we could decorate this room and keep the door shut and she was none the wiser until the night of her birthday…. I give you, Ivy’s new rainbow bedroom! So I guess this marks my first children’s interior styling post, and I loved every second pulling this playful (but practical children’s) room together. Oh, and yes, she loves it!
BEFORE
Ivy loves colour so I had to break away from my usual temptation to go monochrome and sticking with just blush pink was too easy… so I decided to go for something more adventurous, and a little more grown up for her. I used warmer colours in her new room, reds, oranges, yellows, pinks with wooden, rattan and seagrass accessories and somehow managed to source soft furnishings that matched the colours perfectly! Now there’s still some things left to do, anyone who has ever had a cabin bed will know that underneath the bed needs decorating and transforming into a den! Plus we still have a lot of her bits to put back in here… this is the last time it will be this tidy and clutter free ha!
So what do you think?

Such a gorgeous bedroom but… you have a stepdaughter? You never mentioned that!
She has subtly before. She’s not the mother so probably respects that and doesn’t mention her on her social media
